DC Films' Johns And Berg Talk Strategies And More

Image
So a few days ago, The Wall Street Journal had an interview with Geoff Johns and Jon Berg, who are both manning the DC Films group for Warner Brothers, and in the interview they discussed some key things and confirmed a few things.

Many have criticised that DC films are too grim or dark, personally I don't see that, but Johns sees differently on this.

“Mistakenly in the past I think the studio has said, ‘Oh, DC films are gritty and dark and that’s what makes them different.’ That couldn’t be more wrong,” said Johns, who is a DC Comics aficionado having written many comics and arcs for comics, television and now film. “It’s a hopeful and optimistic view of life. Even Batman has a glimmer of that in him. If he didn’t think he’d make tomorrow better, he’d stop.”

While Johns is more of the optimist, Berg feels more like the realist stating that more appreciation wouldn't go astray.
“To have these characters be part of the fabric of pop culture is so rewarding, though of course we’…

'Justice League' To Film In Iceland Soon

Image
With Justice League wrapping up its five month shoot over at Leavesden Studios in London soon, the crew will go to another place to film, this time in Iceland, more specifically Djúpavík.

Iceland is one of three locations the film is being made in, the other two being the aforementioned London and Scotland, where filming hasn't taken place yet(or at least hasn't been reported to be filmed). Westfjords, the official travel guide to the Westfjords of Iceland, reports that in the month of October or November Zack Snyder and co. will film and stay both in a cruise ship in the fjord and in the local hotel, an expected crew of 200 is being reported to stay there.

Westfjords also reports that Icelandic actors Ingvar E. Sigurðsson, Kristbjörg Kjeld, Ágústa Eva Erlendsdóttir and Salóme Gunnarsdóttir will have minor roles in the film.

The question is though, what place will this become? I'm leaning towards Amnesty Bay or some place where Aquaman(Jason Momoa) will show up as the p…

'The Flash' Film May Have Found Its Henry Allen

Image
It looks like Watchmen wasn't Billy Crudup's last venture into comic-book movies as he is being reported by Variety's Justin Kroll to be in talks for DC Films' The Flash.

He, if he is signed on, will play Barry Allen's father, Henry Allen. Henry Allen being of course the accused murderer of his wife's death in the comics.

Crudup will be joining a cast that includes Ezra Miller, who plays Barry Allen aka The Flash, and Kiersey Clemons, Iris West who is Barry's love interest.

Both Ezra and Kiersey will make appearances in next year's Justice League with Ezra having a bigger presence of course.

The film is said to begin production later this year with director Rick Famuyiwa working with a script first written by Seth Grahame-Smith with his own edits to it.

Wonder Woman is slated for release on June 2, 2017; followed by Justice League on November 17, 2017; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; an untitled DC Film on October 5, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice…
